If you want make more money but can’t seem to get it, or you feel that “they” or “them” meaning your company or your boss would not give you any raise, and you wonder why… The answer lays in YOUR way of thinking.
Thinking that your money comes from your boss is like thinking that electricity comes from the wall… It’s seeing the picture incorrectly. The money ALWAYS comes from the customer or consumer. The people that the company you work for serve.
It’s true that a company or a corporation is made out of different positions, hierarchy and systems, however they are all “getting paid” and owned by their consumers.
Lets think about the word consumer. People consume things, products, services and entertainment. Companies fulfill the needs of these people and receive in return a number that represents a value. It’s either you own that company that serves the people or you work for someone who does.
Wherever your job is, and whoever signs you paycheck, the stream of cash comes from your customers, consumers or clients. If they will get a bad service or unfair price, they will take their business elsewhere and someone else will fulfill their needs.
So, How do you increase your income?
The understanding of where the money comes from is the beginning. Now what you need is to think of ways to either serve your customers (who really own your business), better, faster and cheaper so they can recommend to friends and bring more business, or you can aim to increase the number of customers and therefore become more valuable asset to your employers.
There is no way and no company in the world that will not be glad to pay more to an employee who generate more income for them. And if you have a boss like that, who you bring new business to on an ongoing basis, and they refuse to accept, acknowledge and compensate, then it’s time to ‘fire’ them and use your new ideas and skills to enrich another corporation and yourself.
